She has been at the heart of Heswall Hall for almost five years but now manager Sarah Douglas is moving on to pastures new.
The mum of two has played a critical role in the much loved community asset’s growth and development, steering both the day to day running of the Hall as well as expanding its events programme.
But with an exciting new personal project in the pipeline she has decided to say farewell to the many friends, colleagues and customers who have come to regard her as the ‘face’ of Heswall Hall.
“I have loved my time here immensely and I’m hugely proud to have helped bring what we offer – a brilliant live events venue and community asset – to a wider audience,” said Sarah who lives in Heswall and who will leave the Hall at the end of March.
“It’s been both challenging and hugely rewarding and I’ll miss it but I’m excited about my next step.”
Although finer details are under wraps, Sarah will be joining forces with a friend and business partner to establish a play date cafe and specialist sensory space for nought to fives.
“We realised there was nothing like this locally that had an offer which accommodated neurodiverse children,” she explains.
The new project, to be based in Heswall, is scheduled to open early summer.
Chair of Heswall Hall Board of Trustees, Karen Griffith, paid tribute to Sarah.
“She’s been integral to our success and has always gone above and beyond for the Hall and the many hundreds of people who come through our doors every week.
“We’ll miss her but we can only say a huge thank you for all she has done and wish her every success in the future.”
And Sarah pledges she’ll continue to be part of the Hall family – but this time as a paying customer.
“I can’t wait to come to the gigs and sit and enjoy them instead of working!”
